Wow, it's hard to believe that the last time I made changes to the front page was 5 years ago. In fact it's hard to believe that the site has even been around long for so long. I believe I started this site in 2003.
For those few who are still around just a quick update on what's happened to the site and the plans for the future. As many of you know I had a situation in real life that demanded a lot of my attention. My father became very ill and I became his sole care taker. I was also balancing 3 young children, work and a wonderful husband who worked out of town often.
Tragedy struck again 5 years ago and I suffered a spinal cord injury that resulted in my becoming a parapalegic. These things coupled with the fact I was no longer playing Ever Quest.. well we'll just say that the site was the least of my worries. Many of the people in the community who helped build this site also went on to other games, other endeavors. Needless to say that the forums quickly turned into a cesspool of spammers. I did the best I could, but I do owe everyone an apology that it happened.
Enter Nadia :) She came to me and offered to help me keep the forums updated and to help me moderate and control the never ending spam bots. I assure you, it was a full time job. I'm forever in her debt /salute Nadia. I believe that the spam bots have finally been dealt with. It's been over 3 months and only a few accounts have made it through the registration check. /cheer!
OK... so now what you may ask? I've been approached about reviving the forums. It's interesting that this happened when it did. When I renewed the domain this year I wondered if it was time to just let it all go. I've kept the site running although I haven't played Ever Quest in 6 years out of a sincere love for my fist MMORPG and class.
After some soul searching and consideration I've given it the green light. I hope that those coming to the site for the first time as well as those returning will re-build it in the spirit in which it was founded; a true love of the class, a desire to help others reach their potential, most importantly a place to make your own. The community is only as good as its members. Please treat it and others with respect and kindness.
I'll still be around as well as Nadia, and I plan on updating the main site with current information, though it may take me a bit. I'll see you all in the forums, and I welcome you all with open arms.
